The sort of impact a GRO.TEAM person can have is very well described by George Berkowski in his best selling book “How To Build A Billion Dollar App” (pages 358-359) when he says…

“The change was truly amazing. Much of the shared frustration was removed…we started to feel that we were firing on all cylinders…it was truly a great time at the company.”
The Four types of business growth that are usually recognised are;

1. Organic Business Growth.
2. Strategic Business Growth.
3. Partnership/Merger/Acquisition.
4. Internal Business Growth.
The 4 growth strategies that are usually recognised are;

1. Market penetration.
2. Product development.
3. Market expansion.
4. Diversification.
Market penetration is usually the ratio or proportion of a business’s market share versus the total market size. In the UK a firm is said to have monopoly power if it has a market penetration of more than 25%.
To make a business grow faster you need to be more efficient or more effective. Being more efficient means creating more sales from your existing pipeline and to be more effective would mean increasing the size/volume of your sales pipeline/funnel.
Strategic growth is growth derived by creating high level growth opportunities by moving into new markets and/or territories.
A business growth strategy is a strategy or plan to increase sales and/or profit in the next 12-36 months.
Which growth strategy is the toughest depends on context and capabilities but Product Led Growth might be the most difficult form of growth to achieve because it entails creating and maintaining competitive advantage for your product/service.
In high level terms you attract customers by increasing awareness and consideration of your product/service via Sales, Marketing and Customer Advocacy.
To strategize your business you need to take a step back and look at the big picture of how your product/market fit will need to evolve as the world changes over the next 3-5 years.
Growth is important because a business risks being out competed and ultimately failing if it fails to stay competitive as its market and competitors change around it. A lack of growth implies a lack of change and any business that doesn’t change and evolve will ultimately fail.
In simple terms a company is profitable if its total costs are less than its total revenues. To achieve this a company will need to include a profit margin in its sales cost.
A company increases profits by selling more (increasing sales) and/or increasing its profit margin (decreasing cost of sales).
A company could theoretically survive forever without Profit if Sales cover total Costs but a lack of profit can also be a strong indicator of a business that has a poor product/market fit.
It depends why they’re not profitable. It might be because they are choosing to invest their free cash (which is good) or because their costs exceed their revenue (which is bad).
Normal business growth is generally considered to be growth at the same rate as the overall economy so 1-3% in typical years. More than that is outperforming the economy (good) and less is underperforming the economy (bad).

We used GRO.TEAM to iron out internal issues with CTOs, they also helped us to revise our way of working and helped us with a very successful growth hacking campaign. They took us through a full consultation assessing what was and wasn't working internally - they also helped with internal mentoring for some of our staff. Overall - exceptionally good service and a fantastic business to work with.
